Management Team
Mathew Reeves | Director
Mathew joined Hydeng in 2015 and has been an integral part of the business ever since. In November 2025, he took the next step in his Hydeng journey, becoming a Director and co-owner of the business.
With years of hands-on experience and extensive knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Mathew knows the business inside and out. His practical expertise and understanding of customer requirements make him an invaluable part of the Hydeng team — and one of the people who helps keep everything moving in the right direction.
Nikita Smith | Director
Nikita first joined Hydeng in 2014 and has been an integral part of the business ever since, playing a key role in the day-to-day running of the office and administration.
In November 2025, Nikita took the next step and became co-owner of the business alongside Mathew Reeves, embracing the new chapter with enthusiasm and, as they say, never looking back.
With an in-depth knowledge of the business and its operations, Nikita is always looking for ways to improve efficiency, streamline processes and keep things running smoothly — while also making sure the boys are kept in check!
Mark Knowles - Workshop Manager
Mark has been part of the Hydeng team since 1997, bringing with him decades of experience in the repair, servicing and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment of all shapes and sizes.Before joining Hydeng, Mark spent 11 years working in heavy industry, specialising in mechanical maintenance and developing a strong foundation of practical, hands-on experience.
As one of the original owners of Hydeng, Mark has played an important role in the history and growth of the business. When the business transitioned to Mathew Reeves and Nikita Smith in November 2025, Mark chose to continue on with Hydeng as an employee, bringing his wealth of knowledge, experience and familiarity with the business into its next chapter.
Shane Bartlett - Engineering Manager
Shane has nearly 4 decades of hydraulics experience and is passionate about creating custom solutions that work.Shane brings an extensive knowledge and experience to Hydeng. Prior to being a Director for the original Hydeng, Shane was a State Manager and worked for world renowned multinational companies. Shane now specializes in custom engineering machines designed to specific client requirements.
Once Hydeng was sold in November 2025 to Mathew Reeves & Nikita Smith, Shane has stayed on as an Employee and still brings the same passion to his projects, to find the right solution for the job. He also has a passion for teaching, and is constantly instilling his knowledge into the younger generation of technicians.
Paul Needham - Sales Manager
Paul Needham - Sales ManagerPaul has been our Sales Manager at Hydeng since 2014, having previously joined the team as a Sales Representative in 2009.
With more than three decades of experience in hydraulic and pneumatic sales and service, Paul brings an exceptional depth of knowledge to the team. His extensive industry experience, combined with a strong network of suppliers and contacts, allows him to provide practical advice and tailored solutions across a wide range of hydraulic and pneumatic applications.
Paul has a huge wealth of knowledge and a knack for finding the right solution to meet our customers’ needs — no matter how big, small or challenging the job may be.
